Because of the potential size of this website only one page per topic will be put up. Thereafter pages will be rotated on a semi-regular basis. The CTA and North Shore areas may remain as is for the time being depending on server space. Selection of the pictures and pages may or may not be based on a central topic. The pictures cover a range from 1954 to the present with the bulk of the color being shot from 1971 through 1983. There was little activity until 1998 as video was chosen over still photography. Black and white was the chosen media before 1971 and in some instances afterwards. In many cases some of the black and white photographs turned out to be as dramatic as the color. Many of the color photographs are from slides that have aged somewhat. Because of that it was necessary to depend on Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and other means to try to bring the original color and sharpness back. In few instances the historic value of the photograph outweighed the quality. Where necessary quality took preference over the speed of downloading. Because of that there may be instances for those with slower (below 56kbps) where the wait time could be thirty seconds or more. By moving your mouse to the thumbnailed version you will be able to see the size of each picture. It is also strongly suggested that you have at the very least an 1024 x 768 setting: higher if possible, to best view the pictures. You must have a browser that is 4.0 or later. Pictures are copyrighted and may be downloaded only for private use. Those wishing to use any of the material for commercial purposes or other websites must contact the webmaster first.
